Our main purpose has rather boon to exploit how successive tags in the integration of sokoto into the world specialist economy have served to transform of local society on class line also manifesting themselves at the level of class organisation and the class nature of the state . We also find that the differentiation on in. the pre- colonial period has influence the process of colonial arid post – colonial classes formation , especially at the level of the ruling classes , where f euda1 social relation continue to he important in grouping up the power of the colonial of our geologies, Our method has been to first survey the development of t h e economy from the origin of the city , emphasizing the rapid transformation form places since the late colonial period and the impact of the petroleum economy in particular. On the basic of such account of the structure of economic activity in the town we then proceed to identify the various class categories which can be ‘ deduted’ from such a structure . To illustrate how some o f these c1ass categories also can be seen to hove concrete organisational form, we then went on to present some organisation in sokoto which have been established represent election of workers, professional , and business interest . We finally discussed the state it self end how it can be seen as a class of organisation of that our geologies , in promoting the interest of that class , whether foriegn or local
