Abstract
Theresearch discussed the significance of counselling in the elementary school and the functions of the
elementary school counsellor in the 6-3-3-4 system. The functions of the elementary school counsellor such
as counselling, collaboration, or consultation, co-ordination, communication, curriculum, fostering child
growth and development and teaching coping behavior in relation to the 6-3-3-4 system were discussed.
