EFFECTS OF COGNITIVE BEHAVIOUR AND SOCIAL LEARNING THERAPIES ON MANAGING ADOLESCENTS’ AGGRESSIVENESS AMONG SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS IN LAGOS METROPOLIS.

ABSTRACT
This study investigated the effects of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Social Learning Therapy on adolescents’ aggressiveness among senior secondary students in Lagos Metropolis. It used the quasi-experimental pretest-posttest control group design. The participants were one hundred and fifty-four adolescents randomly selected from two Senior Secondary School 2 students of Education District Two in Lagos State of Nigeria. There were two experimental treatment groups and one control group. Data were collected using the Verbal Aggressiveness Scale. Two research hypotheses were formulated to guide the study. The hypotheses were tested using the Analysis of Covariance (ANCOVA). After exposure to intervention therapies, the results showed that there was significant difference in the post-test aggression scores of participants.
